My LFS - Southwest Reef Company

My LFS – Southwest Reef Company

As an aquarist I feel a responsibility to support my Local Fish Store (LFS). Albuquerque, NM only has one LFS that has a primary focus on saltwater aquariums. There were more options in Albuquerque at one time but it is tough for LFS’s to compete against large chain stores such as PetCo or [...]

I’ve decided to start posting a new video weekly of my saltwater aquarium so that you can see how the tank progresses (or digresses should tragedy strike). This video was taken on week 8 since I first put the sand in the tank.

Movie Recommendation: Under the Sea 3D

Movie Recommendation: Under the Sea 3D

Working for ReelzChannel.com has its advantages, including being able to find all the best clips to embed on my personal site. Under the Sea 3D is an IMAX 3D video of mysterious and stunning creatures off the Australian and New Guinea coasts. I haven’t seen this video since Albuquerque, NM doesn’t have an IMAX theater… but if I can find one playing while I’m traveling on my Aquarium Treasures quest I’ll be sure to buy a ticket. Here are some clips courtesy of ReelzChannel.com

I spend a great deal of time reading the forums over at www.nmaquarist.org. Last week Ruth took the time to post tips from experience gained over 20 years of being in the aquarist hobby.

Aquarium Treasures - Volume 2

Aquarium Treasures – Volume 2

Although chronologically I visited this aquarium before visiting the Georgia Aquarium I had lost my pictures and video from this visit until I found it today. The Underwater Adventures Aquarium in the Mall of America is a small aquarium though it does boast that it is the largest underground aquarium in the world. I can’t imagine there are too many underground aquariums, but I have only just begun this adventure.
