Aiptasia (Glass Anemone) Removal

May 1, 2010 by xAquatic

I discovered this weekend that I had the beginnings of an Aiptasia infestation in my 29 gallon biocube. After spending a little time on Google I selected a very quick and effective method for eradicating this pest from my aquarium. This method is informally known as "Death by Fire!" Aiptasia is a species of anemone that is known for stinging other more desirable corals. … [Read more...] about Aiptasia (Glass Anemone) Removal

Bioluminescence expert Edith Widder explores this … [Read more...] about Amazing Light Show from the Deep Sea

There were more options in Albuquerque at one time but it is tough for LFS's to compete against large chain stores such as PetCo or PetSmart. There are also a large number of resources available online that sale most … [Read more...] about My LFS – Southwest Reef Company

Oceanic BioCube 29g: Week 9

March 2, 2010 by xAquatic

Well it is week 9 of my Oceanic BioCube 29g saltwater reef aquarium. I decided to add Frogspawn coral to the tank this week. You can see them in the video below. It has added interesting movement to the tank and I think it frames out the tank nicely. In other news the pavona coral appears to be declining somewhat. I discovered that my salinity levels were a little on the … [Read more...] about Oceanic BioCube 29g: Week 9
